Daily Quest Coins

Hunt monsters, give fame, and clear Party and Guild Quests to earn coins every day. Take them to Luna in Ellin Forest and trade them for cubes, scrolls, and a collectible chair. Yes, the chair is the point.

Build beyond your level

From level 50, Inner Ability opens up. Earn Honor in combat, roll three passive ability lines, then push further with expanded cubing and Bonus Potential. Your level is no longer the whole story.

Lights down. This room sits inside the outline pixel, which is why it is black. Here is what happens when you press Play, with real numbers.

  1. 01 You press Play

    A new tab opens on browserstory.com/web/. That is the whole setup.

  2. 02 The client loads

    BrowserStory is a WebAssembly port of the v83 client. It arrives as one file of 12.2 MB, about 3.7 MB compressed, and runs inside the tab.

  3. 03 The world streams

    The game data is 5.29 GB. You never download all of it. The game asks only for the pieces of the maps, monsters, and music it needs right now, 512 KB at a time. The login screen needs 34 of them.

  4. 04 It stays

    Each piece stays cached in your browser, so your next visit starts faster. The second time you walk into Henesys, it is already there.

Your visit, in three stops. Start playing free in three steps

  1. 1 Create an account

    Pick a username and add your email. It takes less time than the old patcher took to say hello.

  2. 2 Open the game and sign in

    Press Play and sign in with the same username and password. One account works for the site and the game.

  3. 3 Make your character

    Choose your look, then step onto Maple Island. The snails are where you left them.

Is BrowserStory free to play?

Yes. BrowserStory is a free, non-commercial fan project. Create an account and start playing at no cost.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. The game runs in your web browser. Game files stream in as you need them and stay cached in your browser, so later visits load faster.

Which game version is BrowserStory?

BrowserStory is based on the classic v83 client from before the Big Bang update. It also adds later jobs: Cygnus Knights, Aran, Evan and Dual Blade.

What do I need to play?

A computer with a keyboard and a recent version of Chrome, Edge or Firefox. Create an account, open the game, and sign in.

Is BrowserStory affiliated with Nexon?
